Benefits of Membership
Coastal Neighbors Network is a nonprofit, membership-based organization helping older residents of Dartmouth and Westport stay safe, independent and connected in their own communities. We offer two categories of membership.
SERVICE MEMBERSHIP
Benefits
Service members are entitled to a full range of benefits, all provided by our volunteers:
- Transportation to medical appointments, local stores, community events, social activities and more.
- Small tasks around the house: fixing a leaky faucet, installing a grab bar, changing light bulbs, moving anything heavy.
- Technology assistance for your electronic devices: computer, tablet, TV, phone.
- Friendly visits: sharing a hobby, a game of cards, a conversation.
- Social and Educational Programs: a full menu of social events throughout the year, as well as educational programs on aging, healthcare and other topics of interest to seniors.
- Health Connections: while Coastal Neighbors is not a healthcare provider, we can assist with referrals for home health care agencies, medical equipment and help with insurance forms.
Dues
- Single Service Membership for one person, one-year - $660
- Household Service Membership for two people in the same household, one-year - $900
Financial Assistance
No one is turned away for financial reasons. Reduced fee membership is available based on need for both Single and Household Service Memberships. For more information, contact our Executive Director, Andy Pollock: Andy@coastalneighborsnetwork.org; 508.556.4004.
Short-Term Service Membership
For those who need services for a limited time, we offer short-term Service Membership: one person for three months, $200. Short-term membership can be easily converted to a full year if needed; $200 would be applied to the full-year fee. For more information, contact our Executive Director, Andy Pollock; Andy@coastalneighborsnetwork.org; 508.556.4004.
SUPPORTING MEMBERSHIP
With a donation of $350 or more, you become a Supporting Member for one year. Membership fees cover only 50% of our organization's expenses; we rely on and are grateful for the loyal support of these donors.
Benefits
- Knowing you are helping others in your community at a critical stage of life. And knowing that Coastal Neighbors will be there if you need help yourself in the future.
- Supporting Members are invited to all social and educational events.
- An unexpected life event, such as surgery or the death of a spouse, can mean that you need help yourself. On request, you may access all our regular volunteer-provided services (transportation, household chores, etc.) for a period of two consecutive months. This temporary benefit can be converted to full Service Membership; the amount of the donation would be applied to full-year single or household Service Membership.
- Your supporting donation is tax deductible as allowed by law.
