What is Cheshire Village at Home?

Cheshire Village @ Home (CVAH) is a annual fee-based program for individuals or couples over the age of 50.  The Village offers older adults an affordable option for staying in their homes when transportation and light maintenance tasks become difficult.  CVAH is for those who wish to remain independent and socially connected to their communities.  We seek to help members stay in their homes by providing a single point to access support services and programs.  We are a local effort and are neither a real estate development nor a retirement community.  We are a network of caring volunteers and trusted, trained service providers.

Why Should I Join?

Cheshire Village @ Home is a program to help seniors to stay in their homes independently with a little help. For an annual fee of $425.00 a household, one phone call provides access to those services which often cause seniors to leave their homes for a more restrictive setting. Volunteers provide transportation, minor household chores such as changing hard to reach batteries and light bulbs, daily phone check-in, shopping, errands, socialization, etc.

The annual fee includes membership to the Keene Senior Center. Cheshire Village @ Home is a program of the Senior Center.

What is the Village to Village Network?

"The Village to Village Network is a national program created in 2010 and is a national organization that collaborates to maximize the growth, impact and sustainability of individual Villages and the Village Movement. The Network provides expert guidance, resources and support to help communities establish and maintain their Villages.

MISSION: The Village to Village Network is the essential tool that enables community members to build and sustain thriving Villages. The Network creates interactions that connect Villages with resources, education and expertise.

VISION: Through innovation, collaboration, advocacy and inclusion, the Village to Village Network expands opportunity, choice, support and care for all older people.

VILLAGE TO VILLAGE NETWORK CORE PRINCIPLES:
-Practice consensus and transparency at all levels of the community
-Support the practice and principle of reciprocity and the intentional exchange of ideas, approaches, learnings and shared wisdom
-Create innovative programs that help develop Village leadership
-Provide a forum for member Villages to share knowledge about their issues and successes"
